San Mar Deputy Executive Director Jerica Washington LCSW-C has been appointed by Governor Wes Moore to the Maryland Behavioral Health Advisory Council.
The Council also consists of 13 members, appointed by the Maryland Department of Health Secretary, 28 Ex-Officio Members and 14 representatives from the community. The State of Maryland has established the Maryland Behavioral Health Advisory Council to promote and advocate for planning, policy, workforce development, and services with a culturally and linguistically competent approach to ensure a coordinated, quality system of care that is outcome-guided and that integrates prevention, recovery, evidence–based practices, and cost-effective strategies that enhance behavioral health services across the state.
After beginning her service this month Washington shared, “As I continue on the journey to support programming at San Mar, I look forward to this opportunity in advocacy to ensure a quality system of care not only for the people we work alongside, but for the greater community living and working alongside those living with health needs.”
