TREATMENT FOSTER CARE TRANSPORTATION
Help is needed to take children and youth to various medical appointments and to supervised visits in other counties. The volunteer must have a clean driving record and complete a background check. San Mar will provide the vehicle. Schedules will be different each week.
TREATMENT FOSTER CARE CHILD CARE
Person needed to provide supervision to children during the monthly foster parent training sessions. Training occurs second Thursday. One session is offered in the morning from 9:00 until 11:00 and a second session is offered that evening from 6:00 to 8:00. A San Mar staff member will also be present. Location: San Mar’s Boonsboro Campus. Must complete a background clearance.
JACK E. BARR CENTER FOR WELL-BEING
Contact San Mar to find out what is needed at the Jack E. Barr Center. (301) 733-9067. Must complete a background clearance and sign a confidentiality agreement. Orientation and training will be provided.
BESTER COMMUNITY OF HOPE - SPECIAL EVENTS SUPPORT
Persons are needed to help with set up and clean up during the various special events put on throughout the year (Community Block Party, Babypalooza, seminars, etc.).
BESTER COMMUNITY OF HOPE - BOOST AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM SUPPORT
Help is needed with the Bester Out Of School Time (BOOST) program. The program runs for 12 weeks in the fall and the spring. Volunteers are needed on a daily or consistent basis throughout the 12-week period of the program. Background checks will be required.
BESTER COMMUNITY OF HOPE - SPECIAL PROJECTS SUPPORT
Volunteers are needed to assist with special projects. Such projects are not regular events. Examples include: accompanying staff in doing door to door surveys, or joining with numerous others for a community cleanup day.
